Taking down decks or cleaning up the house: If you are tearing down your deck or shed or cleaning your whole house, you would only need a 15-cubic-foot or 20-cubic-foot metal dumpster. But this size dumpster won't be enough for large homes.
Landscaping: Debris from landscaping can fit in a 10- to 15-cubic-yard dumpster, but if the project is big and involves other outdoor areas, you should get the next size up. A lot of space is taken up by plants, tree branches, and soil.
Construction and Demolition: If you are working on a construction project, choose between a 30-cubic or a 40-cubic dumpster. If you are storing bricks, a smaller dumpster will do. For bigger jobs, a metal dumpster with 40 cubic yards of space would be the best choice.
