About four pick-up trucks' worth of trash can fit in a 10 yard roll-off container. They are often used for small projects like remodeling a bathroom or kitchen, cleaning out a garage or basement, replacing a small roof up to 1500 square feet, or taking down a small deck up to 500 square feet.
About eight pick-up trucks' worth of trash can fit in a 20-yard roll-off container. They are often used to remove carpet or flooring from a large house, clean out a large garage or basement, replace a roof up to 3000 square feet, or take down a deck up to 400 square feet.
About 12 pick-up trucks' worth of trash can fit in a 30 yard roll-off container. They are often used for big home additions, building a new house, tearing down a garage, replacing siding or windows on a small to medium-sized house, and so on.
About 16 pick-up trucks' worth of trash can fit in a 40-yard roll-off container. They are often used for big projects like building or remodeling a big house, cleaning out a business, or replacing the siding or windows on a big house.
Standard sizes for our dumpsters are 10 cubic yards, 15 cubic yards, 20 cubic yards, 30 cubic yards, and 40 cubic yards.
A 20-cubic-yard dumpster, on the other hand, can hold about 6 pick-up truckloads of trash. For a whole-house renovation, demolition, or business project, we recommend the 40-yard dumpster, which is the biggest one we have. So, how much can a dumpster really hold? Think about the size of a regular pick-up truck. A 10-cubic-yard dumpster is perfect if you just need to clean up a small yard or do some spring cleaning at home.
This size is also great for small building projects or home renovations. So how do you figure out what size dumpster you need? To show this, think about how big a normal pick-up truck is. Then, what is the best size dumpster for your needs? Do you have any idea how big a typical pick-up truck is? A 10-cubic yard dumpster can hold 3 pick-up truck loads of trash.
If you have a big project that involves a lot of hauling and getting rid of heavy materials, then you should get the biggest dumpster. Just to give you an idea, a standard 10-cubic-yard dumpster can hold up to 6,000 pounds, but we don't recommend that the customer go over that limit. Pay attention to how much each of our dumpsters can hold. If you go over the weight limit, it can cause a lot of problems, not the least of which is that your trash could end up on the street on the way to the dump because the container broke. Call us, and we'll talk to you in depth about this.
Renting a dumpster to get rid of trash at home or at work will save you a lot of trouble, that's for sure. If only you knew how much you would need to rent containers! You can get an idea of how much a dumpster will cost by looking at things like the type of dumpster, its size, location, availability, rental period, the weight of the trash, and how your city handles waste disposal.
Think about the different kinds, which will affect how much it will cost to rent a dumpster.
You need to know that the amount and type of trash will affect the cost of the rental in some way. Find out what kinds of trash and debris can be put in our roll-off containers and how that will affect the final price.
Prices for dumpsters are based on the size of the container, its availability, and how long you rent it for. We have a large stock, so we can give you a yard container with very little notice. If you are sure you need to rent a roll-off container, give us a call.
We recommend that you go to the New Milford office so you can see the list of requirements for yourself. Sadly, there are rules about renting roll off containers. Even our business had to get licenses before we could start running. If you do this, you will still be able to use your driveway while your project is going on. Talk to a city official in your area to find out what kind of paperwork you need to fill out. Keep in mind, though, that if you park a dumpster you rented on public property, you will need a permit from the local government. This is a big problem if you don't have the right permits from the city office to put a big thing in a place where cars drive by.
If the dumpsters you rent are going to be put on your own property, you don't need a permit. But as a homeowner, you should be polite enough to tell your homeowners' association that you plan to keep the dumpsters you rented on your property until your project is done. But if you want to be sure, you should call your city council.
